Monday, 28 April 2003

The line-up for this year's Strokestown International Poetry Festival, which takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend, includes Michael Longley, Frank Ormsby, Julie O'Callaghan, Peter Sirr and Louis de Paor, who will also act as judge for the Irish Language poetry competitions. The official opening at the Percy French Hotel will be performed by actor Enda Oates and one of the highlights of the festival will be "Talking Through My Hat", Michael Harding's one man show about Jonathan Swift. This takes place in Strokestown Park House, as does the announcing of the winner of the Strokestown International Poetry Prize on the final day of the festival.
