Sales of the Irish Times dropped slightly on a year-on-year basis, from 117,565 last year to 116,009 between January and June 2004. The Irish Examiner saw a more pronounced drop-off, of 4.4%, to 57,609 sales. Other publications suffering downward slides included the Evening Herald, Ireland on Sunday and the Sunday Independent. The Sunday Tribune experienced an 8.7% increase in sales over the six months, to an average circulation of 87,026, while the Sunday Business Post also increased its sales, rising 1% to 52,115.
