David Fickling, friend and publisher of the late Siobhán Dowd, accepted the Bisto Book of the Year award on her behalf for her book "The London Eye Mystery". The €10,000 prize money will be donated to The Siobhan Dowd Trust which she established before her death last year to help disadvantaged children to improve their reading skills. The Eilis Dillon Award went to Tom Kelly for "The Thing with Finn", while three Bisto Honour Awards were presented to FE Higgins for "The Black Book of Secrets"; Oliver Jeffers for "The Way Back Home"; and Roddy Doyle for "Wilderness".
