UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School has launched the Business Journalist Awards 2008 to recognise excellence in Irish business journalism across print, broadcast and online media. Eight categories are open for entry including Business News, Business Feature, Specialist Business Reporting and Young Journalist of the Year. Business Interview and Northern Ireland Business Journalist are two new categories. The winner of each category will receive a specially commissioned trophy and €1,500 at an awards event in November.
The panel of judges includes Chris Giles, Economics Editor with The Financial Times; Professor Tom Begley, Dean, UCD Business Schools; and the Chairman of the judging panel is Lochlann Quinn, formerly of Glen Dimplex and AIB.
