At a graduation ceremony tomorrow, Thursday, Queen's University Belfast will confer a Doctorate of Science on Professor Carole Jordan, the first female president of the Royal Astronomical Society. A Fellow of the Royal Society, Professor Jordan has played a leading role in the development and exploitation of European, Japanese and American satellite missions to observe ultraviolet and X-ray spectra of the Sun and other stars.
