Yesterday Trinity College Dublin and GlaxoSmithKline signed a new agreement to facilitate joint research projects and the further sharing of expertise; the two bodies have an existing partnership targeting Alzheimer's Disease and neurodegeneration. Also announced at the signing were new GSK-sponsored PhD studentships in the areas of cognition and innate immunity, and the appointment of the pharmaceutical company's Director of Translational Biology, Dr Neil Upton, as adjunct professor in the university's Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology.
