Meath: Solstice on webcam once again | Print |  Email

For the second year in succession the Winter Solstice at Newgrange will be broadcast via an internet web stream on the Heritage Ireland website, http://www.heritageireland.ie . The announcement was made by Dr Martin Mansergh who added that this year the broadcast was being carried out by the Office of Public Works in collaboration with the International Year of Astronomy 2009. The start of the special year will be marked by the transmission of the Winter Solstice, in partnership with IYA2009, Discover Science and Engineering, and NUI Galway.
