Irish hotel group Jurys Inns, which operates seven hotels in Ireland and 17 in Britain, is to open four new hotels in Glasgow, Newcastle, Portsmouth and Bradford. The four new hotels represent a £90m investment by Jurys development partner, Irish property development and investment company McAleer and Rushe. Jurys Inns is owned by Quinlan Private and the Oman Investment Fund – an investment arm of the Sultanate of Oman.
The new hotels will employ 300 people when they open in 2010 and will follow the seven new Jurys Inns scheduled for opening in 2009, beginning with the 259 room Sheffield hotel, last week. The properties, providing 830 new rooms, will be operated on long-term turnkey leases.
