GE Healthcare at Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork plans to cut 50 jobs over the coming 12 months.  A company spokesman said demand for the products made at the plant had levelled off and restructuring was necessary.

The company, which employs nearly 500 people, manufactures medical diagnostic products for global distribution and recently completed a €15m expansion at the plant.
