Official opening of SFI-funded facility at St James' | Print |  Email

A new Science Foundation Ireland -funded Flow Cytometry Facility in Trinity College Dublin's Institute of Molecular Medicine, located at St James' Hospital, was officially opened on Monday. The new facility will enable precision analysis and isolation of cell samples towards the development of treatments and cures for a range of conditions including cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and asthma.

The funding has also facilitated the appointment of a dedicated Facility Manager, Ann Atzberger, who has been recruited from the University of Oxford. Speaking at the official opening SFI Director-General Professor Frank Gannon said, "The investment will significantly enhance the nature of quality of cell research and, ultimately, patient treatments in this country".
