Dartmouth Square to reopen until the end of 2009 | Print |  Email
Sunday, 14 June 2009

After three years the gardens of Dartmouth Square in the Ranelagh area of Dublin will again be open as an amenity for local residents. Noel O'Gara, the Athlone businessman who bought the gardens when Dublin City Council failed to renew the lease, has come to an agreement with one of the residents. Peter O'Brien has negotiated a deal that will see the park used for community purposes until the end of the year.

Since taking ownership of the park Mr O'Gara has had to be restrained from using the area as a car park and later as a sales area for his tile business.
