Sunday, 25 October 2009

A pipe bomb exploded in the office of an estate agent and auctioneer in Castle Street in Roscommon town, at around 6:30am last Sunday. The device was thrown through the window of John Earley's Property Partners, causing damage to the interior of the building. At the time it was said that the motive for the attack was unknown but by Tuesday gardaí had arrested a man in Co. Kildare.

On Friday night Trevor Owen (31), of Fenview Heights, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, appeared before a special sitting of Galway District Court on a charge of causing an explosion which was likely to endanger life or cause serious injury.
