David Morgan (18) of Bray, Co. Wicklow pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on Thursday to assault causing harm in March 2008. The court heard that Morgan had been taking part in “egging” with friends when he struck Ann Dooley, causing her to lose the sight in one eye. Morgan and his friends had earlier bought 30 eggs to throw as they drove past pedestrians.
Ms Dooley has rejected €10k in compensation and Judge Katherine Delabunt adjourned the case until next month when it will be ascertained whether Ms Dooley will accept the money going to a charity.
