A petition signed by thousands of people was handed in to the Stormont Assembly on Monday by campaigners against child abuse. The petition is demanding a full inquiry into the treatment of children in institutions run both by the State and the Catholic Church. The victims of abuse are requesting an investigation similar to the one which resulted in the Ryan Report in the South.
