The city of Cork has been placed fourth in the world's top ten tourist cities by the Lonely Planet travel guide. Described by the guide as “at the top of its game: sophisticated, vibrant and diverse”, Ireland's second city has been ranked alongside Abu Dhabi, Charleston SC, Cuenca in Ecuador, Istanbul, Kyoto, Lecce in Italy, Sarajevo, Singapore and Vancouver.
