Change of plea in Tralee sexual assault case |

Anthony Vesey (52), a former Fianna Fáil chairman of Cavan County Council, changed his plea to guilty when he appeared at the Circuit Criminal Court in Tralee on Friday, charged with the sexual assault of a teenager. The court heard that Vesey had carried out the assault on a 17-year-old youth while attending a conference at the Malton Hotel (formerly the Great Southern) in Killarney two years ago. The trial was adjourned in order for the defence to assemble witnesses and evidence for a further hearing.
