- A man in his 80s died in hospital on Monday evening as a result of injuries sustained in a road accident earlier in the day. The victim was driving a car that crashed into a stone wall at Knappagh Road, Sligo.
- A 53-year-old woman pedestrian was fatally injured in the early hours of Sunday when she was struck by a car which mounted the pavement on the Malahide Road, near Fairview in Dublin. Three other pedestrians were injured and one, a man in his 30s, has been transferred to Beaumont from the Mater, to be treated for serious head injuries. The driver of the car, a man in his 30s, was arrested at the scene.
