Author Terry Pratchett was in Ennistymon last weekend for the first Discworld Convention to be held in Ireland. The event took place at the Falls Hotel in the town and was the brainchild of two sisters who are both fans of the Terry Pratchett books. Nicola and Mary Ellen Murphy from Tulla took part in the film adaption of the book “The Colour of Magic”, after which they attended a convention in England last year. Helped by their brother's fiancee, Sheila O'Sullivan, they set about organising the event and were delighted when Terry Pratchett himself agreed to attend. Among those who travelled to the four-day event were fans from Singapore, Budapest, Canada, Croatia and Boston.
