In the European Parliament MEPs voted in favour of granting funding of €21m for the retraining of some 1,900 Dell workers made redundant in Limerick, with €14.3m to come from the EU and the balance of €8.82m to be provided by the Government.

Applications have also been made for similar funding to help redundant workers from SR Technics and Waterford Crystal.
