An extension to the Luas Red Line was opened on Tuesday afternoon by Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey. The Red Line had stopped at Connolly Station and will now continue to the O2 Theatre, with new stops at George's Dock, Mayor Square, and Spencer Dock.
The Samuel Beckett Bridge in Dublin, linking Guild Street with Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, was officially opened on Thursday by Lord Mayor Emer Costello and opened to traffic on Friday at 7:00am. Actor Barry McGovern performed excerpts from Beckett’s writings, and the ceremony was attended by the author’s niece, Caroline Murphy, and his nephew, Edward Beckett.
