Legendary weather forecaster Michael Gallagher from the Glenfin Valley says he is about ninety per cent certain that we will have a white Christmas this year. The sixty-one-year-old postman does not rely on scientific data for his projections, rather he uses the signs from nature picked up over the years as he delivered post in the Blue Stack mountains. He has observed sheep and cattle coming down from the mountains, the abundance of haws and the late growth of grass in October. This year Michael has published a book, “Traditional Weather Signs”, prompted by the interest in his observations and further information he picked up while attending the Special Olympics with his daughter in China.
