Derry men Seán Cruickshank (21) and Edward McEleney (22) were given life sentences when they appeared at Derry Crown Court, sitting in Belfast, after their conviction last October for the murder of Liam Devlin (19) in the Creggan area of Derry city. Mr Devlin, from Burnfoot, Co. Donegal, was attacked by the two men and kicked and stamped upon; he died later in hospital. Justice McCloskey ruled that they would serve at least 11 years of their sentences.
