Although a digger was not used in this instance, yet another robbery has taken place involving large sums of money. Thieves smashed their way through the wall of a computer shop in the Sprucefield shopping complex in Lisburn, Co. Antrim in the early hours of Monday and stole the safe, containing thousands of pounds.
Meanwhile another attempted ATM robbery took place at a branch of Costcutters in Augher, Co. Tyrone also early on Monday but police found the ATM, still intact, although there were signs that the thieves had tried to force it open.
On Tuesday the PSNI located the ATMs taken from banks in Cootehill, Co. Cavan, last weekend. They were in a truck abandoned in a wooded area near Rosslea, Co. Fermanagh
