Etihad here to fill 100 vacancies in Abu Dhabi | Print |  Email

Irishman Ray Gammell, who holds the title of Chief People and Performance Officer at Etihad Airways, was in Dublin on Thursdays with a team of recruiters trying to hire up to 100 staff for the Abu Dhabi-based airline. Over the coming months further recruitment open days will take place in Belfast and Cork.

Mr Gammell insists that his being Irish has nothing to do with the focus on recruiting Irish staff. He sees Irish people, with their outgoing nature and highly professional approach, as being ideally suited to a global business dealing with people of all nationalities. While the media attention was on the recruitment of cabin crew, Mr Gammell made it clear that staff are required to fill a range of vacancies.

Etihad expects to expand rapidly over the next few years and will have a requirement for up to 2,500 additional staff. The plan is to retain the CVs of suitable but unsuccessful candidates with a view to considering them at a later stage.
