The Official Song For The 2008 Irish Olympic Team
has arrived and it's a fitting tribute to our athletes representing Ireland on the international stage this summer. The song is a contemporary approach to the sporting anthem which aptly captures the spirit and energy of the global event. With vocals provided by the legendary Clannad singer, Moya Brennan, the tune combines the skillful songwriting craft provided by Grand Canal's Niall Austin with Moya's ethereal world renowned sound. Profits from the sale of the single will be used to support the development of amateur sports in Ireland. Grand Canal also release their second album, "Beauty Never Seen", featuring vocals and instrumental contributions from such talented Irish luminaries as Ronnie Drew, Mary Coughlan and Liam O'Maoinlai. Grand Canal bring a refreshing taster of the music of new Ireland; they will appear live in Crawdaddy, Dublin - Thursday 21st August
